How to Obtain Your Security License in Singapore: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Applying for Private Security Licence

• Check Eligibility: Ensure you meet the criteria set by the Police Licensing and Regulatory Department (PLRD) of the Singapore Police Force.
• Singpass Account: Log in to the GoBusiness website using your Singpass account.
• Application Process Follow the instructions provided on the PLRD website.
• If applicable, apply for training exemption by submitting relevant documents.
• Pay the $16.00 application fee using available payment methods.
• Await Outcome: Wait for the formal outcome notification, typically sent by post within 14 days. In the interim, you can proceed to Step 2 or schedule an appointment with PLRD for assistance.

Step 2: Enrollment in Basic Licensing Units (BLUs)
Online Enrollment: After license application, enroll in the 3 Basic Licensing Units (BLUs) online.
Mandatory Courses: Guard and Patrol, Access Control Management / Incident Response / Threat Observation

Completion: Upon successful completion of the 3 modules, allow approximately 2 weeks before applying for the Security ID card.

Processing Fee: Pay the processing fee of $22.50 (including GST). 

License Renewal: Ensure you complete the online application for a new or expired license via GoBusiness before proceeding with the online issuance of the ID card.
